Wolverine Studios and Sim Sports Gaming Present First ‘Featured’ Draft Day Sports: College Football 2020 Online League

Sim Sports Gaming has announced a brand new league starting this winter using Wolverine Studio’s new Draft Day Sports: College Football 2020. Additionally, the SSG DDS College Football League has been the first league to receive the title of a Featured League by Wolverine Studios, a new designation the studio is providing to leagues who meet and maintain a certain standard of excellence. The SSG DDS College Football league will be unique in another way to most other DDSCF leagues in that it will sim in the SSG standard of using real-time. This means that one in-game week will be simmed in each real-life calendar week. The SSG community has used the real-time schedule for all of their PC sim leagues since 2015. Setting a 1:1 match schedule with the real-life counterpart sport allows for the aligning of important dates such as national signing day, rivalry week, or the bowl season. The 2019 season will still be run on a weekly schedule, but it will be done so over the next few months to allow the league to start close to the release of the game and to allow members the chance to get better acquainted with the game. The 2020 season–the league’s second season–will start in the late summer and coincide with the start of the real-life college football season. SSG DDSCF is now accepting applications for team membership and hopes to fill as many of the 130 teams as possible. The league is planning to use a coach hire/promotion system for coach turnover that will allow active coaches to move to more prestigious positions. The league will be using Wolverine Studio’s soon-to-be-released Draft Day Sports: College Football 2020 for the 2019 and 2020 seasons and will carryover the league each season after that to the next edition of the game. “Membership will be prioritized to applicants who can demonstrate their willingness to contribute content to the league,” says SSG’s Mike Lowe. “This could be writing articles for the website, producing podcasts, videos on YouTube, and things like that. With a full week in between games, this allows the league a lot of time to breathe and for members to provided a lot of in-depth analysis. The best leagues are the ones where the members drive immersive content.” Draft Day Sports: College Football 2020 is available for pre-order here. Pre-orders gain immediate access to the beta version of the game and can even join in on the Wolverine Studios Slack discussion about the game’s development. There has not been a specific release date give by Wolverine Studios for the game, but with the game currently in beta testing, sometime in late January or early February seems possible. You can read more about the game here. The SSG DDS College Football League is expected to start soon after the game’s first patch is released. A detailed schedule will be provided as the start of the league draws closer.
