Tony Miles played a key role in a gritty 2-1 Altoona Curve win against the Richmond Flying Squirrels. The winning pitcher was Miles, now 1-0. He tossed 6.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 4. Ty Stoner closed out the game, earning his 1st save.

Altoona left fielder Djoka Uskokovic contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two down, he hit a curveball to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 2nd hit of the season and put the Curve ahead, 2-0.

"We've got great fans," said Uskokovic. "I hope they got what they came for."

Altoona is off to a hot start at 2-0.
