Reliever Cochrane Chosen August's Best in EL

It doesn't happen often, but it did in August: A reliever, Chad Cochrane, has been named the top pitcher in the Eastern League.
The Akron bullpen ace starred with 12 saves in 13 relief appearances, logging 14.1 innings, 11 strikeouts, 7 walks and a 2.51 ERA. Cochrane finished the month with 1 win and no losses -- and was the league's number one hurler.
To date, Cochrane has 34 saves. In 53 relief appearances he has tossed 54.2 innings, fanned 38 and given up 30 walks with 4 wins and 6 losses. The Akron reliever has recorded a 3.79 ERA and allowed the opposition to hit .289 when he on the mound.

Lozano Picks Up Best EL Batter Honors for August

For a rookie just breaking in, Raúl Lozano certainly put together a successful month. It was good enough to win the EL Batter of the Month award for August.
The 28-year-old second baseman for the Akron RubberDucks hit .330 with 5 home runs, 18 RBIs and 21 runs scored.
For the year, Lozano is batting .308 with 132 hits and 13 home runs. He has scored 66 times and driven in 66.
