The Erie SeaWolves topped the Bowie Baysox, 5-4, at Prince George's Stadium. Erie shortstop Mike Walker was a spark plug for the offense. He was 2-2 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Bo Ferguson got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed no runs on 3 hits in 3.1 innings. Had Greg Arroyo not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Arroyo hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the SeaWolves.
