No one was more impactful than Dax Russell in the 5-4 Clinton win over Quad Cities. Russell, who is tied for 8th in the MID in hits with 142, was 2 for 5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. The win was credited to 22-year old left-handed pitcher Julián Alou in relief. His record improves to 1-4. Bob Barraclough took the loss. The LumberKings sit in second place in the Western Division with a record of 68-51.
Russell had a timely hit for Clinton in the top of the sixth. With Clinton trailing 3-2, he turned a 2-0 fastball into a 2-run home run. It was his 9th home run of the season, making it 4-3, Clinton.
"This was a good win," said Russell.
