Bowling Green's Canavan MID Top Pitcher

May's premier pitcher was Jake Canavan of Bowling Green Hot Rods. He pulverized Midwest League hitters all month long and picked up the Pitcher of the Month award. The Hot Rods star hurler fashioned a 4-0 record en route to the honor.
He had 23 strikeouts in 36.1 innings and compiled a 1.98 ERA. Other clubs hit .213 against him.
Looking at his season stats, Canavan has won 6 and lost 4, collecting 43 strikeouts and 17 walks in 61.2 innings with a 4.38 ERA.

Beloit Third Baseman MID's Best Batter in May

Hank Hembrow made his presence known as one of the best young stars in the Midwest League this past month.
The Beloit Snappers third baseman shined through the month of May and has won the Batter of the Month award.
The 25-year-old hit .477 with 3 home runs, 19 RBIs and 15 runs scored.
Hembrow has collected 41 hits for the Snappers this year, 3 of them home runs. He has also netted 19 RBIs and scored 15 runs while batting .477.
