Zapata Tabbed as August's Starter of the Month

When Juan Zapata takes the hill, there's a good chance for a Beloit victory. At least that's the way it was in May.
He excelled with a 4-1 mark and a 2.30 ERA in 6 starts, tossed 43 innings, fanned 47, and held enemy hitters to a .230 average.
That's why the Snappers star was honored today as the Pitcher of the Month by the Midwest League.
On his stats sheet for the year Zapata shows a 12-2 record, 23 starts, 155.2 innings, 155 strikeouts and a 2.54 ERA.

MID's #1 Batter Announced

Dimitri Jolivet is not used to being associated with Batter of the Month-caliber players, but today the Beloit first baseman joined that select company when the Midwest League announced the results of August's voting.
Jolivet totaled 38 hits, 2 walks, 4 home runs, 20 RBIs and 12 runs scored last month to put together a .514 batting average and .526 on-base percentage.
In 2026 Jolivet has hit at a .420 clip with 42 hits, 4 home runs, 20 RBIs and has scored 15 times.

Lansing to Lose Donungo for 4-5 Months

The season will end prematurely for Tomás Donungo, the Lansing starting pitcher. He suffered a torn rotator cuff on 08/30/2026, an injury that is serious enough to knock him out of action for the rest of the year. Donungo was not available for comment.
This year, Donungo has registered 5 wins and 4 losses in 8 starts with a 6.19 ERA while registering 68 strikeouts and 26 walks in 77 innings.
