Getting a good performance from second baseman Zach Kennedy, the South Bend Cubs defeated the Great Lakes Loons, 9-4. Kennedy was 2 for 5 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Cubs. The Cubs are now 53-68, while the Loons fall to 61-60.

In the bottom of the seventh, the Cubs grabbed the lead when Kennedy hit his 4th home run of the season. The 3-run home run off Josh Ford made it 6-4, South Bend.

"I'm trying to see the ball big, see the ball up in the zone and put the barrel on it," Kennedy told the South Bend Gazette.
