Cubs Fall Short at Fort Wayne, 4-3
Fort Wayne starter José Vásquez pitched well against the South Bend Cubs at Parkview Field. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-3, in 10 innings. Fort Wayne reliever Víctor Trujillo picked up the win, raising his record to 1-0. Artie Maddox was tagged with the loss. The TinCaps, at 58-68, inhabit 4th place in the Eastern Division.

The decisive blow was delivered by Zander Revels in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a run-scoring double off 21-year old left-handed pitcher Artie Maddox to win the game for Fort Wayne. The home crowd went nuts.

"We didn't let this one get away," said Vásquez.
