River Bandits Need Extra Frames to Get Past Bees
|
The Quad Cities River Bandits defeated the Burlington Bees, 7-2, at Community Field. Quad Cities center fielder Jonah Graham had a superb performance. He went 3 for 4 with 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The win was credited to 16-year old right-handed pitcher Ignacio Gómez in relief. His record improves to 7-2. Ismael López took the loss. The River Bandits improved their record to 74-52 with the win over Burlington.
The game was all tied up in the top of the tenth, until Graham delivered big-time for Quad Cities, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Ismael López. The game-changing hit put the River Bandits on top, 3-2.
"We didn't let this one get away," said Graham.
