Whitecaps Pull Out Late-Game Win, 7-6
Fifth Third Ballpark played host to some high drama.

The West Michigan Whitecaps overcame a pretty good performance by Lake County third baseman Bob Walters, beating the Captains, 7-6, at Fifth Third Ballpark. Walters was 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The victory gives the Whitecaps a record of 96-31.

The Whitecaps got a clutch hit from designated hitter Juan Mercado. In the bottom of the 11th, he hit a run-scoring single to center, to win the game for the Whitecaps.

"This place sure got loud," said Bo Porter, the West Michigan manager.
