Wisconsin Timber Rattlers starter José Sánchez found his groove in his team's 14-3 win over the Cedar Rapids Kernels. Ken Poff earned the save, his 1st, for the Timber Rattlers.

Wisconsin used the hitting of Doug Holt to pick up the win. The center fielder clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Timber Rattlers on top, 14-0. For the game, Holt had 1 home run and 2 singles in 6 at-bats.

Cedar Rapids manager Bobby Chouinard said: "We got ambushed. We just sashayed into the canyon and they were firing from both sides."
