Lugnuts Get Past Lake County, 5-4
The Lake County Captains got a superb performance from shortstop Dave Bovey, but the Lansing Lugnuts still won the game, 5-4. Bovey went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Lansing, now 67-65, holds down 5th place in the Eastern Division.

The Lugnuts got a big boost from designated hitter Loren Allen who had a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the first inning off Captains hurler António Villarreal. It was his 21st walk of the season and put Lansing on top, 1-0.

"I like the grit of this ballclub," Allen said.
