|
José Cabral could take little solace in pitching a good game. The fact is his West Michigan Whitecaps lost, dropping a 1-0 decision to the Fort Wayne TinCaps at Fifth Third Ballpark. José Aloniz picked up the win with 5.1 innings of work. He allowed no runs on 3 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 2. On the season, he is now 6-8. Abdul-Qahhar bin Sadaqat got the save, his 13th in 16 chances.
The TinCaps got a big at-bat from left fielder Esteban Galló. For the game, Galló was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. In the top of the first, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Fort Wayne a 1-0 lead.
Galló said his wife shared good advice with him before the game. "She said, 'Don't allow this game to make you mad.' When I thought about it, I realized this is just a game. I was able to relax at the plate."
The win has Fort Wayne at 30-102.
