IronPigs Hammered by Castro, Drop Game 6 to Clippers
|
The Columbus Clippers and the Lehigh Valley IronPigs will take the Round 2 to a decisive 7th game. In a must-win situation, the Clippers beat the IronPigs, 4-2, at Huntington Park to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Columbus first baseman Jesús Castro went 3-4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
The game was all tied up in the bottom of the eighth, until Castro delivered big-time for Columbus, stroking a dramatic 2-run home run off Tony Smith. The game-changing hit put the Clippers on top, 4-2.
"I felt good up there," said Castro. "I saw the ball well."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Huntington Park in Columbus.
