Curve third baseman Gilbert Lara left his mark on his team's 8-7 win over the Richmond Flying Squirrels. Lara went 3-5 with a home run and 2 doubles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for Altoona in the contest. Altoona reliever Joe Burgess picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Hal Powell took the loss. Altoona is still hoping to get on a roll. The win is just their 5th in 19 games.

With Altoona trailing 7-6 in the top of the ninth, Lara hit a fastball from Hal Powell for a 2-run double. It was his 2nd double of the season and put the Curve ahead, 8-7.

"Our approach was just to try to see something over the plate and be aggressive," Lara told the Altoona Today.
