Altoona and Richmond played a hard-fought contest.

Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the Altoona Curve and the Richmond Flying Squirrels. Altoona won it, 3-1. Altoona starter Darryl Cobb was in command. The Curve, with just their 6th win so far in 2026, have yet to catch fire.

Altoona used the timely hitting of Gilbert Lara to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Curve on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"You have to trust that what you're doing is going to produce results," said Cobb.
