The Trenton Thunder outlasted Álex Pérez and the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, 8-7. Pérez was impressive in the loss. The New Hampshire first baseman went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Justus Sheffield was the winner. He's now 2-0. The loser was Chris Bryant. Trenton, with the win, is 15-5.

Jeff Edwards had a big 2-run home run for the Thunder in the bottom of the third inning. With Trenton leading 2-1 and a runner on 3rd, he sized up a slider from former first round draft pick Chris Bryant and punished it. The result was his 4th home run of the season, which put the Thunder on top, 4-1.

"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Trenton manager Eric Owens.
