Lemus Leads Black Bears to 5-3 Win Over Yankees
The West Virginia Black Bears beat the Staten Island Yankees, 5-3, at Richmond County Bank Ballpark. The Black Bears got a fine performance from center fielder Lou Lemus, who was 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Timoteo Florioli earned his 5th save, after closing out the game. The Black Bears sport a record of 22-38.

Had Lemus not come through in the top of the eighth, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Lemus hit a run-scoring single. The Black Bears took the lead, 4-3, and never looked back.

"I'm just looking to see the ball, hit the ball," said Lemus.
