Flying Squirrels Need Extra Frames to Get Past Fisher Cats
The Richmond Flying Squirrels defeated the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, 8-6, in 10 innings. Doing his part was right fielder Mario Santiago, who was 3-6 with 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. Hal Powell was the winner in relief. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Damion Carroll. Richmond goes to 1-1.

In the bottom of the tenth, with the score tied, Santiago hammered a 2-run home run to win it for Richmond.

"It took some blood and sweat, but we got what we were after," said Flying Squirrels manager Mike Sarbaugh.
