The New York N (GCL) Mets are on to the Round 2 after a convincing series win over the Tampa Bay (GCL) Rays.

New York N (GCL) wrapped up the series sweep with a 8-5 win in the last game, to take the series 3-0.

"We expected to win and we executed the way we needed to," said Shawn Simons, who was named series MVP.

For the series, Simons hit .500 with a .529 on-base percentage. He had 3 home runs, drove in 9 RBI and scored 6 runs.

The New York N (GCL) Mets don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Atlanta (GCL) Firebirds - Detroit (GCL) Tigers series. Detroit (GCL) leads the series 2 games to 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
