Reds Rally Late to Clip Kansas City (AZL)
The performance of Randy Poole proved critical in helping Cincinnati (AZL) beat Kansas City (AZL), 6-5. The Reds first baseman went 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Cincinnati (AZL) reliever Jon Hanna picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Clarence Randull took the loss. Don Dean recorded his 4th save for Cincinnati (AZL).

Had Eric Smith not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Smith hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Reds.

Cincinnati (AZL) manager Mark Lamm was pleased with the team's effort. "It was just a good, gutsy performance by everybody," he said.

The win puts the Reds at 10-9, while the Royals drop to 13-7.
