The New Hampshire Fisher Cats took Richmond pitcher Ernesto Varela's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. The final score had New Hampshire getting past the Flying Squirrels, 2-1. Varela went 8 innings and allowed 2 runs, striking out 6. New Hampshire is still hoping to get on a roll. The win is just their 7th in 21 games.

The Fisher Cats got a big at-bat from center fielder Sancho Rosário. For the game, Rosário went 1-3 with a home run. In the bottom of the first, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave New Hampshire a 1-0 lead.

"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Richmond manager Mike Sarbaugh said, following the tough loss.
