Woodard Schools San Jose in 3-1 Bakersfield Triumph
In a low-scoring tilt between the Bakersfield Blaze and the San Jose Giants, 24-year old left-handed pitcher Steve Woodard was the difference-maker. The Bakersfield left-hander spearheaded the 3-1 win. Jean-François Jacques was credited with the save for Bakersfield, his 1st of the season. The Blaze improved their record to 80-52 with the win over San Jose.

It was an impressive turn from the legendarily hard-working Woodard, who tallied 6 strikeouts in 8 innings while allowing just 4 hits. Woodard goes to 5-0 on the year with 53 strikeouts.
