Bakersfield's Hall Top Pitcher in July

Over the past month Chris Hall has turned quite a few heads. He's young, talented and able to pitch with the established arms in the California League. He proved all that and now he's been named July's Pitcher of the Month.
The rookie for the Bakersfield Blaze posted 5-0 mark and a 0.92 ERA. In 3 starts he tossed 29.1 innings, permitted 26 hits and fanned 36 batters.
This year, Hall has a 8-3 mark in 8 starts with a 2.89 ERA. He has given up 80 hits in 74.2 innings, struck out 79 and issued 16 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .274 batting average against him.

Hunt Claims CAL Batter of the Month Award

San Jose Giants fans may just have witnessed a star player blossoming before their eyes in July.
Greg Hunt put up a remarkable month at the age of 24 and has been named the California League Batter of the Month.
For the month, Hunt hit .387 with 4 home runs, 23 RBIs and 18 runs scored.
In his season totals, Hunt has 10 home runs, .332 BA, .385 OBP, 60 RBIs and 43 runs scored. He has played in 69 games.

Malone Rips 3 Homers Against Ports

Whatever Ken Malone ate for breakfast before his game against the Stockton Ports, it gave him some impressive power.
The Visalia left fielder smacked three balls up and out of the park at Recreation Park. His home run barrage helped the Rawhide defeat the Ports, 8-7.
"When they throw it in your wheelhouse, you've got a shot at a homer," he told BNN reporters after the game. "I got three shots today and nailed them all."
On his 3-homer day, he went 3-for-4, scored 3 times, drove in 5 and put on a display that history will remember.
Ken Malone hit a two-run home run off Tablighat Khassanov in the 2nd, flied out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Tablighat Khassanov in the 5th and hit a two-run home run off Bernardo Martínez in the 7th.
So far this year, Malone is batting .226 with 9 home runs, 29 RBIs and 26 runs scored.
