JetHawks Squeeze Out Win in Pitching Duel
|
Lancaster JetHawks starter Stu Hewer worked his magic, to help his team defeat the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes, 1-0. The winner was Hewer. He threw 6.1 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Joe Groves. Lancaster, at 68-65, occupies third place in the South Division.
U-suk Ok drove in one run for Lancaster. The 31-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With no one out and a runner on 3rd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Joe Groves. It was his 62nd RBI of the season.
"This game will punch you right in the mouth," said Hewer. "My job is to show up and give my team a chance."
