High Desert Dismisses Lancaster, 11-5
The High Desert Mavericks took on the Lancaster JetHawks at The Hanger.

Mavericks designated hitter Mike Taylor put his stamp on his team's 11-5 win over the Lancaster JetHawks. Taylor was 1-2 with a double, 2 walks, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 runs for High Desert in the contest. Gil Burns earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 3 runs on 3 hits in 1.2 innings. His record is now 6-2.

Dave Obermark had a big bases-clearing double for the Mavericks in the top of the fourth inning. With High Desert leading 2-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Bob Johnson, who is tied for 6th in the CAL in wins with 10, and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Mavericks ahead, 5-0.

"Being able to contribute to a win is always a great feeling," Obermark told the High Desert Observer.

The win makes High Desert 63-73.
