The Bakersfield Blaze picked up a win at Lake Elsinore Diamond, knocking off the Lake Elsinore Storm, 8-1. Starting pitcher Ken Day was a big reason why. Day, who is tied for 7th in the CAL in wins with 10, went the distance for Bakersfield. He gave up 1 run on 8 hits. The Storm, now 44-96, have lost 6 straight.

Bakersfield center fielder Dana Spencer contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fifth. With two down, he hit a forkball to right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 3rd hit of the season and put the Blaze ahead, 2-0.

"I thought we played a nice game," Spencer told the Bakersfield Gazette. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
