Ramsey Excels in 7-2 Lake County Win
The Lake County Captains downed the Dayton Dragons, 7-2. The hitting star was right fielder Ron Ramsey. Ramsey went 3 for 3 with a triple, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Captains. Ed Makarezos, now 5-0, was credited with the win in 4.1 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on 3 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 2. Lake County raised its record to 72-63 with the win.

The game was at a stalemate until catcher Doug Gary came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Dayton pitcher Alex Phillips, he hit a full count knuckle curve for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Lake County on top, 3-2.

"Enjoyed this one," Ramsey told the Lake County Citizen. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
