Beloit Rallies to 3-1 Win
|
Beloit and Clinton played a hard-fought contest.
The 3-1 Beloit win over Clinton was due in large part to Joe Britten. The Snappers right fielder was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The Western Division-leading Snappers are 82-54.
Britten had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 1-0 fastball from Bob Holliday, he banged a 2-run home run to left-center, giving the Snappers a 3-1 lead. It was the 5th home run of the year for Britten.
"We busted our tails," said Clinton manager Clay Buchholz. "But we came up short."
