The Quad Cities River Bandits defeated the Burlington Bees, 5-3, in Midwest League action at Community Field. Quad Cities pitcher Mike Morgan had a standout performance. Morgan picked up the win for Quad Cities, going 7 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 11-7. The win for the River Bandits raised their record to 70-68.
Quad Cities relied on the hitting of Luis Villarreal to pick up the win. The center fielder ripped a run-scoring triple in the top of the fifth inning to put the River Bandits on top, 3-1. For the game, Villarreal had 1 triple and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
