Mets Handle FCL, Snag 4-3 Win
|
A good performance from designated hitter Jeff Webb helped the FCL Mets defeat the FCL Marlins, 4-3. Webb threw 7.1 innings allowing 2 runs for the Mets. Webb yielded 2 runs over 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 2, and struck out 6. His record improves to 2-0. Steve Hodge picked up the save, his 2nd.
The Mets got a big at-bat from right fielder Joe Harper. For the game, Harper was 1-3 with a triple, while adding 3 RBI. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run triple. His 2nd triple of the season gave FCL a 2-0 lead.
"I just tried to make good contact," said Webb.
FCL goes to 8-2.
