Flying Squirrels Win, 5-3, at New Hampshire
|
Richmond registered a win at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium by beating the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, 5-3. Pitcher Enrico Ramírez was one reason why the Flying Squirrels triumphed. In 7 innings, Ramírez surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 9 and walking 2. He allowed 3 runs. Hal Powell closed it out for Richmond, earning his 8th save.
Richmond catcher Chet Johnson contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the seventh. With two down, he hit a fastball to left-center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 16th hit of the season and put the Flying Squirrels ahead, 5-3.
"We took home the win," said Johnson. "What's not to like?"
The Fisher Cats fall to 7-15 and continue their uninspiring start to the 2026 season.
