The home team gave the crowd at Louisville Grounds something to cheer about.
FCL Rays starter Kelvin Burks turned in a top-notch performance against the FCL Tigers at Louisville Grounds. The result was a win for the Rays, 3-2. Burks got the win, improving to 2-0. He gave up 6 hits and walked 1 over 7 innings. He allowed 2 runs.
The Rays got a big at-bat from catcher Daniel Bermea. For the game, Bermea went 2 for 3 with 2 doubles and a walk. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 2nd double of the season gave FCL a 3-2 lead.
"I made good pitches, kept the ball out of the middle of the plate for the most part," said Burks.
