The FCL Marlins handed the FCL Nationals a loss at Roger Dean Stadium. The final score was 4-1. Ollie Young was one of the major contributors for FCL. In addition to his 1 single and 1 home run, he scored 1 run and drove in 3. FCL reliever P.J. Thomas picked up the win. Buddy Sanders took the loss for FCL. The save was Jim O'Connor's, his 2nd.
Sam Bray went 1 for 3 with a walk for FCL. The 22-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring walk off Buddy Sanders. It was his 4th walk of the season.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said FCL skipper Shane Greene.
The Marlins go to 5-11 with the win.
