New York N (GCL) Mets starter Joel Daniel turned in a top-notch performance against the Miami (GCL) Marlins at Ensigns Ballpark. The result was a win for the Mets, 3-2. In 6 innings, Daniel surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 14 and walking 3. He allowed no runs. New York N (GCL) is 8-10 and Miami (GCL), with the loss, 14-4.
Joe Adams, who is tied for 6th in the GCL in triples with 2, helped out the New York N (GCL) cause in the bottom of the fifth inning with a run-scoring ground out. For the game, the right fielder was 1-4.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Miami (GCL) skipper Shane Greene, "and it cost us."
