The FCL Marlins besoiled an otherwise fine performance by FCL designated hitter Elvis Caballero by beating the Astros, 13-8, at Ballpark of Belvedere. Caballero went 3-5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. Eric Tyler, the winning pitcher, is now 1-0. He went 7 innings, allowing 3 runs on 10 hits, while fanning 3 and walking 2. The Marlins now have a record of 7-13.

Despite the loss, the Astros got an encouraging performance from 17-year-old Elvis Caballero. In the bottom of the eighth, he hit a grand slam home run to make the score 13-8, FCL. "It's not easy for a young guy to go out there and perform," Astros manager Mike Wright said. "But he did it like one of the vets."
