Both teams had their chances, but the FCL Marlins eventually prevailed.
Though he had a great game, Jeff Webb could not single-handedly produce a win for FCL. FCL won the game, 2-1. Webb threw 9.0 innings of 8-hit ball. Reliever Andy Hendrick picked up the win. His record improves to 2-1. Jeff Webb, who is tied for 5th in the FCL in strikeouts with 55, took the loss.
Jeff Williams had a direct impact on the outcome. Williams contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put FCL up, 2-1.
"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Williams.
FCL is second in the East Division with a record of 15-18.
