Pirates Stymied by Red Sox, Walters
|
Kevin Walters, who is tied for 7th in the FCL with a 12.3 K/9 rate, was brilliant in helping FCL beat the FCL Pirates, 6-1. The Red Sox have an impressive 22-11 record.
Walters, the starting pitcher for FCL, took care of business. The left-hander, who is tied for 3rd in the FCL with a 1.56 ERA, racked up 13 Ks, while allowing just 3 hits. Opposing hitters had trouble barreling up the ball.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said FCL manager Kenny Holmberg.
