The New York A1 (GCL) Yankees1 licked the New York A2 (GCL) Yankees2, 5-2. Bob Gustafson deserved a big chunk of the credit. The first baseman was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for the Yankees1. Picking up his 4th save was 18-year old right-handed pitcher Derek Wade. The Yankees1 improved their record to 16-20 with the win over New York A2 (GCL).

Gustafson contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for New York A1 (GCL) in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 2-1, Gustafson took a cutter from Odílio Farias and stroked the home run to right. His 14th home run of the season allowed the Yankees1 to leap in front, 3-2.

"We did the things that it takes to win a game," said Gustafson.
