Marlins Squelch Mets Offense in Shutout Win
Marlins catcher Rusty Davis left his mark on his team's 3-0 win over the FCL Mets. Davis hit 2 home runs for FCL in the contest. FCL reliever Steve Saunders snagged the win, upping his record to 1-0. Greg May shouldered the loss. Jim O'Connor finished the game for FCL and earned his 8th save.

The Marlins picked up the win with a combination of good hitting and good pitching.

Davis said his team "played with a purpose."

The second-place Marlins now have a record of 17-20.
