The Toronto (GCL) Blue Jays topped the Pittsburgh (GCL) Pirates, 7-5, the lion's share of the credit going to right fielder Jesús López. On the day, López went 2-3 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for the Blue Jays. Eugene Howe recorded his 7th save for Toronto (GCL). The Blue Jays, at 21-20, lead by one game in their division.

Toronto (GCL) took a 7-5 lead on Johnny Hurt's 9th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Hurt hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Pittsburgh (GCL) pitcher Bob Harvey visibly frustrated.
