Nationals Rebuff Mets, 7-6
The Washington (GCL) Nationals beat the New York N (GCL) Mets at Space Coast Stadium. The final score was 7-6, in favor of Washington (GCL). Ed O'Neil led the way, going 1-for-4 for the home team. José Gutiérrez claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.2 innings. His record stands at 1-0. Jesús González collected his 4th save.

O'Neil contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Washington (GCL) in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 6-3, O'Neil took a curveball from Phil Clark and stroked the home run to left. His 2nd home run of the season allowed the Nationals to leap in front, 7-6.

"You can't hate how you win if you win," said Washington (GCL) skipper Wade Davis.
