Mets Score Late, Top Astros, 7-4
The FCL Mets beat the FCL Astros by a score of 7-4. FCL third baseman Brad Miner deserved the lion's share of the credit. Miner went 1 for 2 with 3 walks, while scoring 2 times for the Mets. Kurt Hawkins earned the save for FCL, his 5th. With the win over FCL, the Mets improved to 45-13.

FCL used the timely hitting of Don Browning to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Mets on top, 7-4. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Browning, "one at-bat at a time."
