New Hampshire Beats Richmond, 9-5
|
The New Hampshire Fisher Cats withstood an impressive performance by Richmond designated hitter Jorge Morales to defeat the Flying Squirrels, 9-5, at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. Morales was 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk, while scoring 3. The winning pitcher was Raúl Sánchez. His record now stands at 2-2. The right-hander went 7.1 innings, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits for the Fisher Cats. The Fisher Cats, with just their 8th win so far in 2026, have yet to catch fire.
Center Fielder Sancho Rosário made an impact for New Hampshire, when he swatted a run-scoring double off Mike Thompson in the bottom of the first. For the contest, Rosário went 3 for 5 with 2 doubles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said New Hampshire manager Rafael Gil.
