A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Washington Nationals and Cleveland Guardians.

The Washington Nationals downed the Cleveland Guardians, 7-1, at Progressive Field. Nick Castellanos led the way, going 3-for-5 for Washington. Washington is now 36-21, 5 games up in the National League East Division.

With Washington leading 2-0 in the top of the third, Castellanos hit a fastball from Hector Jimenez for a 2-run home run. It was his 8th home run of the season and put the Nationals ahead, 4-0.

Said losing manager Tristan Bugbie: "The list goes on and on of things we just flat out didn't do."
