Almost There: Arkansas On Cusp of Round 2 Triumph After 3-2 Win
The Arkansas Travelers got a strong performance from pitcher Dave Jones, who stymied the Corpus Christi offense en route to a 3-2 win in Game 4 of the Round 2. The Hooks could never get a bead on the right-handed Jones, who threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball. The Travelers now hold a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-7 series.

Had Charlie Hall not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Hall hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Travelers.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Jones.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Dickey-Stephens Park in North Little Rock.
