King TEX Winner, Top Hurler in August

The Texas League announced the winner of the Pitcher of the Month Award. It went to relief specialist Rusty King of San Antonio for his outstanding work on the mound.
The San Antonio reliever had 8 saves, pitched 12.1 innings, struck out 14 and walked 2 on the way to a 2-0 mark and a 1.46 ERA.
This year, King has made 37 relief appearances and saved 19. His record is 3-4 with 42 strikeouts in 34.1 innings and a 4.72 ERA.

Gaston Wins Best Bat Award in August

Charlie Gaston has a lot going for him. The Corpus Christi second baseman just broke into the majors this year and now the Texas League has just picked him as its top hitter for August.
In 22 games last month this outstanding rookie batted .365 with 6 home runs, 33 RBIs and 21 runs scored.
This year, Gaston has hit at a .349 clip with 51 RBIs, 12 home runs and 39 runs scored.
