Amezcha Is July's Top Starter

This month when the Tulsa manager wrote the name "Amezcha" on the lineup card, he was confident that he would get a good start out of him. Outing after outing in July Jesús Amezcha took command and usually got the win.
He dominated with a 5-0 mark and 1.75 ERA in 5 starts, piling up 36 innings and 39 strikeouts and holding opposing teams to a .161 average.
For his superb performance Amezcha was named the Texas League Pitcher of the Month by the baseball writers.
Amezcha has made 19 starts so far this year and put up a 11-5 won-lost record with a 2.68 ERA. In 134.1 innings he has allowed 101 hits, walked 55 and struck out 159.

Texas League Selects July's Best Batter

Today Josh Burkett was voted Texas League Batter of the Month for August. During the month the 28-year-old Corpus Christi first baseman compiled a .441 batting average.
Most importantly for the Hooks though, he also posted 10 home runs, 27 RBIs and 23 runs scored.
This year, Burkett is batting .333 with 16 home runs.

Season Done for Bixler

Quentin Bixler has to call it a season. The San Antonio Missions reliever learned today that the full extent his injury suffered on 07/25/2026 is worse than hoped. He will not play again this year according to club doctors, who diagnosed the injury as a torn flexor tendon in his elbow and stated that he would not be able to play for 12 months.
The team will likely place Bixler on the injured list today.
This season, Bixler has picked up 14 saves and posted a 3-4 record with a 2.70 ERA. He has 31 relief appearances, tossed 43.1 innings and struck out 14.
