The Erie SeaWolves powered past the hometown New Britain Rock Cats, 7-1, in the opener of the Round 1 at New Britain Stadium. Erie starting pitcher Joe Glass threw 6.0 innings of 5-hit ball, to lead the charge. The SeaWolves now lead the series 1-0.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Tim Scott? The Erie shortstop had a 2-run single in the top of the first inning to put the SeaWolves on top, 3-0. For the game, Scott had 1 double and 1 single in 3 at-bats.

"It's still just a game," said Scott, "whether you win or lose."
