Road Win Lifts Asheville to 2-1 Lead in R1
The Asheville Tourists moved to within one game of the Round 2, downing the Greenville Drive on the road at Fluor Field at the West End by a score of 5-1. Tourists left-hander Zander Hughes had a strong outing. He threw 6.2 innings of shutout ball. The win gives the Tourists a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 Round 1.

Asheville used the hitting of Dave Harrison to pick up the win. The shortstop clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put the Tourists on top, 1-0. For the game, Harrison had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.

Asheville manager Stan Bland commended his team for "banging out a nice win."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Fluor Field at the West End in Greenville.
