Road Win Lifts Toronto (GCL) to 1-0 Lead in R2
|
Toronto (GCL) Blue Jays manager Matt Carpenter knew it was a gamble to give the start to a rookie. It was a good gamble to take.
Pitching in front of a hostile crowd, 24-year-old right-hander Oscar Park silenced the host Miami (GCL) Marlins at Roger Dean Stadium. The Blue Jays shut out the Marlins by a final score of 2-0, to give the Blue Jays a 1-0 advantage in the best-of-7 Round 2.
Park, the Toronto (GCL) right-hander, went 9 innings, allowing no runs on 6 hits. He collected 8 strikeouts.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Toronto (GCL) manager Matt Carpenter said.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Thursday, September 11th , 2025.
